SLUGFUCKER RELATED THINGS (THE LAST OF THEM)

THE SLUGFUCKERS / THE 2 JOHNNIES - SYDNEY SCULPTURE CENTRE 30/06/1979

THE 2 JOHNNIES - BAD IMPRESSIONS

THE BLEEDING ARSEHOLES - NO MEAT NO BEAT NO WANK NO THINK

All remastered at home from very poor to good quality cassettes.

These 3 cd-rs display the awkward, anarchic talents that fueled the Slugfuckers.

The live show at the Sculpture Centre was found on an initially pre-recorded cassette of a Supertramp album, wrapped in masking tape to hold it together. The quality is awfull but, in some ways, it's a definitive statement of the band.

The 2 Johnnies were John and Terry (augmented as required by other Slugfuckers and friends) doing performance pieces, cut up poetry and social commentary. Bad Impressions seems more obvious than the Slugfuckers themselves with more emphasis on the words rather than the punk thrash sound. My favourite - the ironic refrain of 'fucken aussies, we're tough bastards, got those woggies by the balls'

The Bleeding Arseholes is John by himself. As befitting any release of this type (guitarist from rock band makes solo album!) it has soft singer songwriter moments ('Good King'), many guitar overdubs ('Logarhythms'), essential cover versions ('Submission') and a nod back to the band that made him 'famous' ('Mechanical Boy'). This is, ofcourse, knocked on the head completely by his twisted take on sound.
