Notwithstanding my ambivalence to Dave Studdert's ego at the time, this is another excellent Australian post-punk re-release and easily outstrips other CD releases of the band. On par with The Laughing Clowns' Cruel But Fair in terms of packaging, sound quality and commentary, it is THE definitive Tactics document. I'm sure Volume 2 will enthral many upon it's eventual release but this is the timeframe that matters most for me in terms of song quality and commitment.  It has some of the best insights into the Sydney scene I've ever read by Dave, Hamish Reid and Alan Arthur. Dave - if you're reading this at all - a great, great job.
